Billeting Information

The Seguin Junior “A” Hockey Club is always accepting host family applications. These are special families who open their doors to the young men playing on the Seguin Junior “A” Hockey Club and provide them with a safe living environment for their stay with the team. For many of our players, this will be the first time they left home. The Seguin Junior “A” Hockey Club makes it a priority to find the best possible homes in the surrounding area for our players to have success on and off the ice.

The players must adhere to all team rules in addition to the specific house rules of the billet family. He must respect all family members. Billet families will be paid on the first day of each month in the season by the club.

The host family is asked to provide the player(s) with a healthy, clean living environment. In addition, the billet family needs to provide the player with three meals a day. If the player is not home for the evening meal then the billet family is asked to grant him access to the kitchen to prepare a meal for himself.

These families must first apply to our team billet coordinator. If their application meets a team standard, the family then goes through several interview stages. Families are encouraged to billet more than one player, as we have found the optimal number of players per household is 2. Our interview process for selecting these families ensures our players will be in a safe and secure home environment.
